Annually, District 4 host a district rally to observe St. Lucia’s Independence and this year 2016 was no exception. Tuesday 16th February, District 4 celebrated St. Lucia’s 37 years of Independence under the theme The Journey Continue sand focused on a sun theme “An Exploration of Self.”
All schools in District 4 were present and they put on different performances. Our school, the Anse La Raye R.C. Infant School worked in collaboration with the Anse La Raye Primary School’s choir and sang the song “Let there be Love” Addresses related to the theme were made by parliamentary representative for Anse La Raye/Canaries, Hon. Desmond Long, parliamentary representative for Castries South East, Hon.Guy Joseph, former permanent Secretary in Education Ms. Fortuna Anthony representative of Ministry of Education, Mr. Clovis Samuel and our very own District Education Officer Mrs. Fiona Myer.
Special recognition was given to long serving teachers for their dedicated service and excellence of pupils awarded in curricular and co-curricular areas. The proceedings ended with a march past lead by the uniformed groups of the secondary schools. It was enjoyable day which showcased the many talents of our pupils in District Four. Well done Mrs. Fiona Mayer.
